A Decade of Action on AMR: Reflections and Path to 2029

A decade after the Davos Declaration on AMR, sustained collaboration has driven innovation, strengthened stewardship, and expanded access to lifesaving antibiotics and diagnostics. What began as a shared commitment by more than 100 life sciences companies has grown into the AMR Industry Alliance – setting a new benchmark for coordinated action against one of the world’s most urgent health threats.

James Anderson, Chair of AMRIA; Bruce Altevogt, AMRIA board member; and John Rex, a close partner of AMRIA; have launched a new article, A Decade of Action on AMR: Reflections and Path to 2029, highlighting measurable progress since the Declaration while making clear that resistance continues to rise. With the 2029 United Nations High-Level Meeting on AMR on the horizon, the message is clear: this is a critical window to turn commitments into lasting policy and economic reforms that can stem the rising tide of AMR.
